“The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even touched but must be felt with the heart.” -H. Keller
“Delight yourself in God and He will give you the desires of your heart.” -Psalm 37
We are drawn to them, right? A sunrise, a sunset or the amazingly created landscape of nature. We stop. We absorb. We feel them and we appreciate them. Gratefulness wells up in our hearts.
But not always. Sometimes we run right past them. We are chasing the things of our shallower self. I do it too! No one is immune. Wants become needs. Needs become “got to have nows.” And we run right past the best and most beautiful not seeing or being touched by them.
Then suddenly we are grabbed by a moment and our deepest self, our authentic heart’s desire, the one placed there when we were created, takes over. We want to be inspired. We want to be taken to that higher place where our heart can be filled with what is truly meaningful. That which is timeless, boundless, and ever loving.
It will happen suddenly and without warning. The beauty of creation overwhelms us, and we are awed by knowing we are part of something much bigger, much greater than we can ever begin to imagine.
Look up from the day to day. Inspiration is just a moment away!
