“Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work; you don’t give up.” -Anne Lamott
“I waited patiently for the Lord and He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the muck and mire.”
TAKE HEART!
Being stuck in “the muck and the mire” just sounds right on some days or some seasons of our lives. We can’t see the good, we forget all that is going right because we feel “stuck in the muck”. We wonder why? We feel alone. We see no end and we often hang our heads and looking down it is dark.
But there is something in us. A spark. An inspiration that causes us to look up instead of down. We look. We wait. But we also do! We do what we already know to do, we seek, and we hope!
And as we look up a small light appears, tiny but intense. It breaks through the darkness of our situation. Dawn warms our souls. And we go on.
