HOPE-note 1

“I dwell in possibility” -E. Dickerson

“The Lord will work out His plans for my life, for your faithful love endures forever.” -Psalm 138

TAKE HEART!

Wherever we find ourselves today, we can be sure we are not staying there. The possibility of somewhere else, something else is always present. Not like “the grass is always greener.” It is not a restlessness built on envy, jealousy, or self-absorption. It is more a longing, from a source deep inside, for a sense of fulfillment, purpose, and peace. It is the belief that all doors are open to me-all possibilities await!

That’s why I chose the photo of the boy and the ukulele for HOPEnotes. The face of the boy says it all. I can play this. I can do it. And I can do more. I can’t wait to see what else I can do. I can be part of something bigger than myself. It is a face of optimism, fearlessness, and joy! It is the face of HOPE.

Sadly, it is the face we all had before the world started to tell us what we could never do. Before events over which we had no control attempted to reshape us. Before we started chasing “greener grass.”

I chose that photo because I am that boy. Yes, that’s me. Whenever I look at it now, it helps me to remember that joy; To be reminded to “dwell in the possibility.” To seek “the greater” that lies beyond us.

Come join me. Let’s help each other live in HOPE!
